The Widdershins

Earworms are those viscious little ditties that take root in your memory, and play themselves over and over until you wish to scream.  There are lots of them, they come from multiple musical genre, and they can never be really expunged from the memory. In fact, the only way to purge an earworm is with another earworm.

Earworms range from the greatest of tunes to the most mundane.  I’m listing my favorites, and hoping that y’all will do the same.

This is an  open thread.

(1) It’s A Small World. Walt Disney.   This is the mother of all earworms, and the Most Annoying Children’s Song.

(2) Macarena – Los Dos Rios. Not only does this somg get stuck in your head, but you might also dance to it. This is my candidate for Most Annoying Song in Espanol.

(3) Fear Da Tiger – Bootsy Collins.  Who dey think gonna sing along? This is the Most Annoying Song in Professional Sports.

(4) Duke of Earl – Gene Chandler.  I can recall  this song competing for brain space during junior high math. That may explain why I’m so poor at this – we’ll jus blame it on the Song That Ate My Algebra Grade.
 

(5) Another One Bites the Dust.   Queen.   Yes, it does- over and over and over and over…..
