Tyrannical tranny…

Trump’s hair making a break for it…

These days it seems as if the world is one large cyclonic toilet. Issues circle, disappear, others surface, circle, disappear, just to be replaced by others. It’s too much for even the media to say grace over.

So I’m not even going to try.

There’s a big picture issue coming up this week and it is instructive on a larger level. Chinese President Xi Jinping and the ambulatory orange bath mat are scheduled for a tete-a-tete at Mar-a-Lago this week. Column A on the menu is North Korea and Column B looks like trade.

Since the North Korean issue is a crazy town convention, I’ll stick to Column B. It is far more manageable.

First and foremost, Dolt 45’s life is transactional. Marriage is a prenuptial contract. Child rearing is a child support agreement. Business is one deal after another. He sees everything as transactional. Many commentators have mislabeled him as an authoritarian, but to be an authoritarian you must first have beliefs.

Umber Dolt has no guiding principles beyond winning. As we’ve discussed before, his competition means he measures everything – from the size of his paws to the number of floors in his buildings.  His whole concept of self-worth is a ledger entry. Numbers serve one purpose – as a mirror of his self-esteem.

This is not lost on the Chinese. Dolt 45’s Chinese trademarks were miraculously approved after years of being blocked. Jared and Ivanka were courted by making them guests of honor at the Chinese New Year celebration in February. There are even new applications to market Ivanka’s jewelry in China.

The big leverage, the Chinese Anbang Insurance multi-billion dollar sweetheart real estate deal for the Kushner family, collapsed after much deserved Congressional and press criticism.

It’s against this backdrop President Xi matches wits with 70-year old Orange Herbert. And I forgot to mention, Xi is being prepped by the Chinese ambassador, a U.S. educated, professional diplomat with U.N. experience. The Orangeloupe is being prepped by the administration’s Swiss Army Knife that always dreamed of being a real boy, Jared Kushner.

Drumpf’s kin caught sunbathing at Mar-a-Lago…

Trade is complex. It is the consummate push-me-pull-you animal that bites. It’s much more complicated than declaring, “My trade surplus is bigger than yours.”

A story would be helpful.

Let’s say there’s a school PTA holding a bake sale to raise money. The parents are divided into two groups because competition, like greed, is good. One team is led by Ivan Rottencrotch and the other is led by Holly Woodstar.

Ivan’s group goes the traditional route and bakes, bakes, bakes. They have lots of cupcakes to sell. They sell them for market price considering the cost of all the ingredients.

On the other hand, Holly’s group gets most of the ingredients donated. Holly is really just an aggregator, but since the ingredients cost her nothing, she can sell her cupcakes for much less and produce many more.

Holly’s group wins the competition. When her great victory is written up in the PTA newsletter, they only mention the overall sales figures between Ivan and Holly’s groups. They fail to mention the breakdown of just how Holly won – by having cheaper ingredients and bringing cheaper cupcakes to lots more rotund ‘Muricans.

That is trade in a nutshell. America is Holly Woodstar’s team. Since the good old ‘Murican dollar is the world’s reserve currency, foreign businesses and countries like to invest in ‘Murica. It allows domestic manufacturing to spread its supply chain globally and take advantage of cheaper components. That’s one of the reasons you can get a 55-inch television for $329. It’s why Walmart is Walmart. It’s why FedEx and UPS are not delivery companies, they are global supply chains.

These complexities are understood by the Chinese. As Sun Tzu said, “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.” President Xi need not fear Dolt 45. We, on the other, should.

The carotene cone head is a transactionalist. If the Chinese offer to buy a few more jets from Boeing or Alibaba makes more meaningless promises, that’s all it is going to take for someone who is tweet-happy. What’s more, that’s all it takes to assuage a base always ready to blame the others.

Look for some grand trade announcements this week. It will be face-saving. While Dolt 45 is looking for his next tweet, Xi is looking ten-years into the future. Don’t for a minute think Xi doesn’t realize there is a tiny brained creature roaming the Mar-a-Lago grounds. By the end of the visit, he will have tamed and trained the tyrannical tranny.

I hope all the lovely people on the blog here are doing well. I just thought I would stop by and say hello to some old friends. So much Russia stuff unfolding it’s hard to keep up these days.

Ga6th, we’ve been asking about you. We miss you. How is the special election panning out down your way?

Hi Ga6th Dem! How are things going with Osoff? I keep seeing conflicting reports on his numbers…

The Chinese are going to wipe the floor with the orange rug, and he’s going to tweet how much he loves them and how he has solved the trade problem.

And Kushner, what in the hell can he not do? The man is truly extraordinary!!!! New York magazine has a new fluff piece on him, coming on the heels of the Kellyanne fluff piece.

Here’s a verrrrry interesting read on the Alfa Bank/Trump Tower/Spectrum Health computers chatting. I think this guy probably nails what is happening there.

https://teapainusa.wordpress.com/2017/04/03/data-patterns-suggest-trump-towerspectrum-health-ran-a-stealth-data-machine-with-russia/

Also, following up on last thread, the Comey was a victim of Guliani/Prince/NY FBI behavior. That’s a theory that Louise Mensch and others have pushed for some time, including Abrahmson. I don’t buy it. Is it possible that a group of rogue FBI agents forced the director of the FBI to throw an election? I mean….I suppose anything is possible, but it doesn’t make Comey any more competent for allowing to be pushed around that way to *throw an election* That is a very big deal and it can never be corrected. So is Comey just that incompetent? I don’t think he’s incompetent. I think he knew what he was doing and as he said at a recent speech, he’s not concerned about consequences of FBI’s actions. Even dumb-ass Dubya always said he loses sleep over the soldiers he sent to war.

Lady Graham is calling on Congress to investigate Susan Rice. And there it is folks! We’re going to have 4 years of Susan Rice investigations and hearings… GOP at work.

@4, I’m reading about the Alfa bank and it’s a bunch of bad Russian hombres, but some of the conspiracy theories are a little out there. I’m not convinced why, of all the gin joints in all the world, why Alfa’s server was pinging servers in Trump Tower. It seems as if Trump Tower is the epicenter of the coincidental universe — it all happens there.

@5, the question everyone glances over is why the Weiner computer sat in the FBI NYC offices for a month before anyone said, “Hey, better look into this.”

@6, I just saw on Twitter they ran back when Susan Rice’s name first surfaced in connection with this whole deal. It was March 20th at the Comey hearing. The strategy was birthed and the NSC, as an arm of the RNC, has been hard at work since then.

I like teapain, he’s smart. The money & data laundering is a huge thing. Scott Dworkin just said if they don’t prove collusion with Russia there is Trump India and several other collusion connections. It’s huge. I’m getting more and more nervous about his agenda and the depth of the connections surrounding Trumps placement. If we don’t win a majority in congress soon, it will be too late to stop him.

Loved your cupcake analogy Prolix. Yup, Dump is just looking for this next thoughtless tweet.

The same thing that brings him back to ‘making deals’ to destroy Obamacare again. He let everyone know that he didn’t like being the biggest loser last week over O’care, so he is trying to sell 24 million people down the river, again.

I was having second thoughts a few days ago, about finally doing my income taxes…because O’Care was not ripped to shreds and my son might not lose his healthcare. Now that things are up in the air again on O’Care…I am not motivated.

One of the things I have heard is that Dump might attempt to dismantle O’Care by letting people opt out, not pay a penalty…which he would sell as saving American’s the choice to buy their own or not have any healthcare. His real motivation is to make O’Care more unstable so he can tell everyone that he is going to save them by getting rid of this ‘worst care plan on the entire planet’.

@9, it is so obvious what is happening on the Right — scary Kenyan President hired a scary African woman and they conspired to malign saintly orange man. That’s the whole story in one sentence.

https://thinkprogress.org/susan-rice-explained-1a72785b100e

Ga6th- good to see you again. Yes, it is difficult to keep up with all the corruption going on, but in the end, it will be written in history on how this election was manipulated and all the corruption of the worst ‘president’ the United States has ever had. Hopefully ending in impeachment at the very least, lawsuits and possibly jail suits handed out for the entire gang of thugs.

@11, thanks Shadow. I think they have already set in motion an Executive Order that says they won’t enforce the non-insurance penalty. The new proposal that has gotten the Freedom Caucus all hot and bothered is one to make it even more hostile and painful for sick, poor people.

As far as the Freedom Caucus goes, it is all about making more people suffer and hurt. The Freedom Caucus, just a rebranding of the Tea Party, is the same bunch of “I’ve got mine, sorry about your luck,” bunch they always were.

You can’t explain taking away pre-existing conditions and “community ratings” in any other way. It is a way to lower premiums for the younger, healthier white folks, give them a few thousand dollars to buy worthless insurance, and hurt older, sicker, poorer people. They ought to sell t-shirts with their slogan, “Sorry about your luck…”

@7 Prolix, what do you mean why Alfa server ended up at Trump Tower? Do you mean physically? I don’t think it was physically there, just communicating with computers at Trump organization, which was also communicating with Betsy Devos’ husband’s company. The 3 servers communicating back and forth. That’s something we first learned about last fall and the media at large laughed at David Corn for the original story.

And there are also same names that keep popping up over and over and over. Erik Prince, Betsy DeVos and husband, Rudy, Manafort, Page, Stone, Sessions, Kislyak. It’s not that we keep getting new names and try to figure out how they fit in, but we keep getting additional info on the same cast of characters. I just can’t imagine how there isn’t anything there there.

But I agree that one should also try to avoid the crazier conspiracy theories because we are better than Pizzagate. But – as they say – it’s not paranoia when they’re really after you!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Regarding the 6th it looks like Osoff will definitely make it the run off in June. We have a jungle primary but I no longer live in the district as I got redistricted into the 11th and now have Barry Loudermilk of the freedumb caucus representing me.

As far as Comey interfering in the election I’m sorry but even if the NY field office leaked their garbage to the press it would not have had the authority nor the effect of having a letter written by Comey. Comey is going to have a lot to answer for and no, I don’t believe his excuses about Obama not letting him write an op ed about Trump’s involvement with the Russians. He had no problems going against Lynch when it came to Hillary’s email TWICE.

Hi Ga6th! Glad to hear Osoff will make it to the run off. Sorry you’re stuck with a freedumb caucus rep for now — hope that changes.

I agree that the idea of Comey being pressured by Guiliani and Trump’s other thugs seems far-fetched. Comey is a Republican in the first place, and his first news conference on Hillary’s emails was uncalled for, so I think he may just be mean enough to have wanted to do that 2nd announcement anyway.

Prolix, I like that use cupcakes analogy for explaining the global supply chain and business expenses and profits. Baker Trump would use stale flour adulterated with floor sweepings.

@15, yes, DYB, I should have been clearer, according to what I read, it was “pinging” a server in Trump Tower. I’ll go up and fix my previous comment to make it more accurate. Thanks for pointing that out.

I saw a list somewhere of all the Russian “coincidences” and it was about half a page long. At some point, the odds are astronomical that something isn’t quite right. I think we passed that point about 10 miles back.

@17, Ga6th, there you go, that’s what we are missing around here, the “freedumb” party. That got a LOL outta me. Thanks for that.

@19, thanks Luna. Undoubtedly, he would use adulterated flour since adulterated is the way he has lived his life. Of course, in the Dolt 45 world, there are no food inspectors so no harm no foul, that is if you live through the food poisoning.

@19, two points about how complicated trade gets. I couldn’t really find a place in the post to throw this in.

1. One of the fastest growing markets for the SUVs and pickups being made in MI, OH, and IN is Mexico. A trade war initiated by tariffs would hurt those “Trumpkins”.

2. This is an “across the board” estimate, but of those things being assembled in Mexico, at least a fifth (20%) are components manufactured in the U.S. Those components are the highly precision-tooled components or the high tech components. A trade war based upon assembly manufacturing in Mexico would harm the component manufacturers in the U.S., again hurting the Trumpkin voters.

I just love cupcakes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What are Osoff’s chances of taking the seat?

@23 Prolix, who would Trumpkins blame? I really have no hope that they would blame Trump. I think what we need is an article from a major media outlet telling us how Trumpkin voters feel! It’s a voice that’s been lacking.

Chelsea Clinton gave a comment to Politico that she does not think her mom will run for any political office again. Someone on twitter asked if another male politician has had to make such announcements with as much frequency as Clinton (via Chelsea, in this case.)

NY Senator Gillibrand has a profile in New York magazine. She took Hillary’s seat when Hillary went to State. Some people are looking to see if Gillibrand is going to run for President in 2020. Things I’m seeing on Twitter: Maggie Haberman attacking Gillibrand for being more like Hillary than Sanders.

Also, though I haven’t seen this yet, I’m certain it will happen: if there is a woman considered strong enough to run in 2020, Bernie Bros, every TV pundit and most reporters like Haberman are going to scream how dumb it is for Democrats to run a woman again after Hillary’s loss. My question will be: “If your objection was not to Hillary being a woman, but to her being THAT woman, why shouldn’t a woman be Democratic nominee in 2020? Maybe because your objection to Hillary was that she is A woman?”

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/04/kirsten-gillibrand-progressive-champion-2020-run.html

@26, LOL — I think there might be about a half-dozen Trumpkin voters who have not yet been interviewed for their fee-fees about the world in general. Most of those not interviewed have yet to come out from their winter hibernation caves. Those that have been interviewed have said it’s all fake news like that stuff about the world not being flat.

You ask, “How do I know about Trumpkins?” I see them every damn day. They are everywhere. They say things like, “Why don’t they just leave the man alone. All he wants to do is help us. If the Democrats would leave him alone he could fix the problems.”

Oh, honey, I just can’t…

Data Patterns Suggest Trump Tower/Spectrum Health Ran a “Stealth Data Machine” With Russia

—-
That is a very good article, thank you.

I do believe this pattern is exactly what is being analysed by our spooks and intelligence people. I think there is more to it than just digging up possible Dump supporters to blitz with fake news by Russian trolls, etc.

In my opinion, these are things that may also have taken place:

– Laundered Russian money pumped into the Dump campaign near the end of the election, may have been tagged as ligit voters as donors.

– Deleting Dem voters off of the voting rolls at election sites, making their normal votes that would have been counted at the end of the night, provisional ballots that would be counted, if necessary, after the election was over. ** The reason I say this is because this happened to me. Even in Blue state CA, my name was not listed on the voting roster when I went to vote, and I have voted for decades in EVERY election since I was legally able to, for decades. I was yelling at the people in charge and was only allowed to vote on a provisional ballot, which was counted more than a month after the election was over. My son was in the same provisional boat, but he blatantly went and stuck his ballot into the voting machine to be counted instead of a poorly supervised blue bag that I had to put my vote in. Thinking this is a possibility, makes me wonder if Hillary actually won by well over 3 million votes?

– I am sure that more was done in this election, just hoping that social media pushing fake news to Bernie supporters and Hillary haters, was pittance in compared to what all this hidden hacking could do to our election. I bet, this was not the only illegal thing that was done.

This investigation might be the stake that is driven through Dump’s heart in the end of the exposure of how much corruption was done to our election.

Let’s not forget, Congress knows a lot more than we do on what happened, and the investigation has just begun.

Take HIM DOWN!

I’m going to make a prediction. Don’t usually, but here it is:

North Korea will do a nuke test on Thursday or Friday.

A little post-it-note from Kim Jong Unsmart to Xi and the Apricot Arsehole that they best not be talking no crap about him. If you don’t start nothin’ there won’t be nothin’ — officially translated from Korean.

30

I predicted that we would be in a war within 6 months, maybe I should move it up to two months from now. Oh wait, we are still in a war since Dumpster is putting more boots on the ground in multiple countries…and God knows what else…

Did you see Dump’s astounding statement on Syria gas attack?

@32, someone said, “Trump blamed Obama for taking Trump advice on Syria and then not having the sense to ignore Trump.”

Dump wants to take credit for anything, until it bites him in his fat, flabby, pink ass…then he tries to cover up by blaming it on someone else. He has the intelligence of a sheltered, bratty child, with the added addition of no morals.

Haha Bill O. attacked Don Lemon on Twitter. Lemon returned fire.

Bill O’s tweet:

Many big construction firms not bidding on Trump’s proposed wall –

[snip]
The deadline to submit proposals for the wall was Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, and many of the biggest construction and engineering companies are steering clear of bidding for the project altogether.

[snip]

State lawmakers in both California and New York have introduced bills that would effectively blacklist any company involved in building the border wall from future state business. Neither of the bills has passed (yet) into law, but the possibility alone has turned off many potential bidders.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/04/politics/donald-trump-border-wall-construction-companies/index.html

On the same page is an interesting video of many Dump supporters that are going to lose or forced to sell part or all of their land, at decreased values, to Uncle Dump…to build the ‘wall’.

Everything Dump tries to do, turns to shit.

Prolix – your moving trump hair GIF is truly awesome!

@37> The only part of The Wall that makes me laugh is that all these Trump supporters would have their lands confiscated by the government for it. That’s a kick in the balls!

We’re all gonna die guys:

This is really good, with graphic too.

Here’s what we know so far about Team Trump’s ties to Russian interests

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/trump-russia/?utm_term=.cfc615206911&hpid=hp_hp-top-table-main_russiatrumpties-0442pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory

Yep, we’re all gonna die:

@44, I didn’t expect it quite so soon. What is lost in the details here is that N. Korea has hundreds of thousands of troops massed just north of the DMZ and over a million in total. South Korea and the U.S. has nothing approaching those numbers. The U.S. has about 30K and South Korea has about 500K in total.

The Commander of U.S. Forces has tactical nukes if they are overrun. He has battlefield authority. Scary, scary time.

Prolix, glad you got a laugh out of it. When you live in a 70% Trump district you find very inventive ways to make things funny though I didn’t make up the phrase freedumb. However, now I’m hearing that once again Trump is going to attempt to do HCR and I guess I’m going to have start calling Freedumb’s Putin Stooge’s office to tell him not to vote for this POS either though he was going to vote for the last disaster.

@39. Contrask, isn’t that great! I saw someone on Twitter with it and I started searching for it and finally found it at giphy.com. I’m pretty amazed that some British person has a sense of humor — that was a pleasant surprise too.

@46, Ga6th, I can see your 70% and raise you to 80%. I live amongst orange Trumpkin zombies. They stand to lose their health care, about to start drinking polluted water, continue to be unemployed, and swear that orange colostomy experiment is the second coming. I just can’t understand it.

Oh hell, here we go again; another severe wx day. The eastern counties cancelled classes earlier and now the B’ham area schools have followed suit. They are calling out the storm spotters and all of that. The first round is supposed to start rolling in around bus-time for the kids. The wx guy just now was talking about “baseball sized” hail. Please no…

@49> Fredster what’s happening with the weather? I’m sure it has nothing to do with climate change, which isn’t real because I have ice in my freezer and can boil water on the stove.

A Federal Appeals Court has ruled that the Civil Rights Act covers LGBT discrimination.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/04/04/federal-court-civil-rights-act-protects-lgbt-workplace-bias/100046514/

@50: Actually this is pretty normal for this time of year D. It’s the spring storm season. Most of the time these things start/form in the west and central areas and move east.

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/com/weatherreadynation/spring_safety.html

And after this stuff moves out we may have lows in the mid to upper 30s for a couple of nights. Right now it’s in the high 70s.

Go figure!

This is Tillerson’s response to North Korea:

@50, LOL!

@51: That’s GREAT news!

@39 & 47: That image gave me the willies.

@49, Yikes Fredster, you’re right in the scary part. I hope you stay safe and warm indoors.

Prolix, very funny post and love the crawling hair gif. This N Korea thing is getting very scary. I’m worried for Japan and S Korea more than us, although, at the rate dump is going, I’m beginning to wonder if Americans will need to find another country to migrate to. My sister’s kid is getting married this summer and she’s relieved he’s marrying a half Canadian girl so they can move up there in case they bring back the draft. My niece’s boyfriend is a young Marine and he just got back from a tour in Iraq, and they’re already shipping him back there again.

Prolix, I feel your pain. I do not know what is with these people unless they are a bunch of zombies sleepwalking to the polls to press the R button.

@40, “I don’t know what it means to be complicit.” How dumb is she? We just saw this on the news and I thought she looks scared.

Speaking of S Korea, how dumb (or corrupt) was the IOC to hold the next Olympics there, with that lunatic so close, and all the smog and other issues. I spent 4 days there in the late 80s btw. Very interesting, although not comfortable. I had a friend there who drove us all over, out to the country where women were washing clothes in a river, and to the border of the DMZ. I lost contact with the friend because their postal service wouldn’t deliver my letters, I would get them back 3 or 4 months later, all dirty and torn. Pathetic. I finally gave up.

@51, Yay!

@57: Yeah annie, I hate damned tornadoes. They are sneaky and drop down on you with little or no warnings unless they are those long-lived on the ground types. Either way I hate ’em!

Jeff Merkeley is in his 4th hour filibustering Gorsuch.

@58, thanks Annie. This meeting with Xi is going to be interesting. He will be inordinately polite, but he will take the orange cat turd to the litter box. He will run circles around Dolt 45. It will be sad for the country.

They’re calling them “pings” between the Alfa bank servers in Russia and the one in tRump’ building. Technically, they’re DNS requests which are sent when you want to *communicate* with a server, not just find out if your network is working. And then Teapain points out that the communications, likely syncing databases on the servers, happen every hour + 1 minute. Sounds like an hourly cron job, which is the commonest command to set up automated backups, communications, whatever.

When the news about that sketchy server first came out (before the election!), Paul Vixie himself, Grand Old Man of the internet and networks, said the pattern looked like what you’d see in a criminal enterprise where people were trying to hide their tracks.

But, of course, it couldn’t be checked out then because the most important thing is always to pretend that it can’t happen here. Whatever It might be.

@59, do you think it might be they believe the character he played on the Apprentice was really him? I saw someone saying that the other night. The theory was that they can’t tell the difference between the character and reality. They don’t realize it was all scripted and choreographed. I just find that amazing.

@66, quixote, do you have a theory as to what “It” is?

If the rest of the country had the per capita quality representation of California, Congress wouldn’t suck. Here’s Ted Lieu, another great CA Rep.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

@40 & 60: Yeah uh-huh. To loosely quote Big Daddy from Cat on a hot tin roof I believe I detect the odor of mendacity. And that goes for the entire clan and in-laws, outlaws and the rest.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Merkeley is still going!

Pruitt is so bad, so miserably deficient, even Fox is grilling him.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

OMG Cher has lost her mind. Or as someone pointed out, her account has been hacked by Susan Sarandon.

Prolix, I’m reading most of this thread after working late….I had taken a quick look at news over my break at work and saw that N Korea sent off another rocket test. Then I come home, read thru everyone’s insightful comments, come to your prediction on N Korean launch, and got cold chills.

Once in a while here on the Left Coast when a loud but distant sound happens, like a sonic boom, people have been known to look at each other and say “North Korea?” It’s no longer funny.

@75, hope your day was a good one. Sorry to ruin your evening. The Korean Peninsula problems are really worrisome. I hope I’m just a worrier for nothing.

@76, thanks. I got a lot of writing done on a currently hot topic in my field, and I always enjoy the writing, even though it’s frustrating at times. One article is for patients, and the other for prescribers, so I switch back and forth in point of view and level of complexity in language. Of course, both articles are needed soon — there’s never enough time to work on one at a time. Hah, at least I don’t get in a rut. I’ll try the patient one out on real patients tomorrow — always important to do a reality check when possible.

Urgh, you know we’re worrying for 2 reasons. One’s in N Korea and the other is in the White House.

I did get some laughs over Kurt E trying to reason with some Berniebots!

This is kinda long, but it is well-worth the investment.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

@77, you are absolutely right and truth be told, I’m more worried about the orange cuckoo in the White House than I am the one in Pyongyang.

My inveterate need to connect the dots just caused me to think — this could be the War of the Really, Really Bad Hair. Neither of them have anyone close enough to say, “Get thee to a barber.”

@80, found a photo of Pyongyang Derangement’s hair. Let me see if I can put it in here…

@81, evidently not the right code; sigh; worked too long today. The proper animal for the N Korean Tyrant is this Giant Leopard Moth Caterpillar (Ecpantheria scribonia) or Black Woolly Bear Caterpillar. Lots of images here: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Ecpantheria+scribonia&iax=1&ia=images

Alas the Tyrant will not ever turn into a handsome moth. I SO wish I could find a GIF of this caterpillar!

@82, Here you go — this is the preferred coif of Kim Jong Unsmart. The only thing that would make this better is if there was a little tiny bowl to cut the hair around it just like Unsmart does or someone does for him.

The scary part is when Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un match wits…

Merkley ends his 15 hour filibuster.

Bit late checking back in here, but Prolix @68, the “it” that can’t happen here is probably anything you wouldn’t find in a Norman Rockwell painting. (Too many negatives. Sorry. Hope you know what I’m trying to say!)

(Don’t get me wrong. I actually like his drawings a lot. But they’re like PG Wodehouse stories. You enjoy them remembering they’re just a fun take on things to give you relief from the misery of constantly contemplating idiots.)

So, “it” is anything that says the US isn’t perfect in every way, don’t you think?

@87, bad sign. Really bad sign. Housekeeping to legitimize the National Security Council. Rid the NSC of political hack so there is no hint that said “hack” could taint the decisions.

@86, I think you are right. We are about to meet the outer reaches of “American exceptionalism” and find out how paper thin it can be. Pretty much like those old tin-mercury mirrors. Spotty and mottled. American exceptionalism is personnel-dependent and the current occupant of the Oval is antithetical to the concept of exceptionalism.

Is that right?

The two terror twins of NY Times, Haberman and Thrush, just interviewed Dump. I tweeted at them that their discussion of who hates Hillary more must have been exciting!

Among other things, Dump says Bill O. is a good man and shouldn’t have settled any lawsuits. Also Susan Rice is a criminal. Etc. I don’t know why they bother at this point. Just let him tweet.

@87, just like he parted company with Manafort, except he’s still living in Trump Tower.

Headlines these days are giving me more nightmares.

Will North Korea fire a missile capable of hitting the U.S. mainland? Probably.

Should people in Seattle and San Francisco be freaking out?

No, but they should be worried.

“Yes, as a looming threat, not a current threat,” said Philip E. Coyle, a California-based senior science fellow at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and a former assistant secretary of defense. “North Korea does not yet have a long-range missile that can reach California. North Korean missiles can’t even reach Hawaii, but time is not on our side.”

WaPo just wrote another article about poor white people in Ohio who are being ignored by Democrats. Just today. Another one. A new one. A new article. About poor white people in Ohio. Today. WaPo just wrote it.

Also Lindsey Graham is blaming Obama for Syria.

Really, if I ever ever say anything nice about Lady Lindsey or John McCain, please smack me. They are scum.

The Bannon “firing” is interesting. So much spin on it! Some people argue it was McMaster’s demand (which might be true.) But, as you guys point out, Bannon is still in the White House and has full security clearance, so it’s like Manafort living in Trump Tower. It’s actually worse because Bannon may not be on the NSC but he’s in everything else and has the ear of Dump.

WTF?!

@94, did you see the hillbilly grifter J.D. Vance who was all puffed up and going to move back to Ohio to fight the opioid epidemic. Yeah, he rode that pony almost back to Ohio when Steve Case called and said, “Hey J.D. come to work for my hedge fund and live in D.C.”

The hillbilly grifter said, “Let me think about that — okay.”

I don’t care what WaPo or NYT says, look at any poll — the people they are interviewing are Republicans. They have been Republicans or voting Republican since Raygun convinced them they were eating a vegetable when they were swilling down ketchup.

The poor people in Ohio and Appalachia, I know because I see them everyday, see Republicanism as aspirationally and morally superior to Democrats. Of course I know how effing crazy that is, but that is the truth. It goes like this:

Republicans have more money. I want to be seen as wealthy. Being Republican doesn’t cost anything. I like Fox. Democrats won’t do anything about “those people” — blacks, gays, or Muslims. But to further enhance my vicimhood, I’m going to say I want to be a Democrat, but its the Democrats’ fault I can’t be.

That is it in a nutshell. Nothing fancy. Bunch of hypocrites who want to weave a story absolving them from any responsibility for their lives or their station.

@97, scary. DoE has responsibility for nuclear weapons. Maybe that will “woke” some people on what a bunch of clowns are in charge.

Someone pointed out there hasn’t been a statement from Tulsi Gabbard about her friend Assad.

@98 Prolix, I’m unconvinced! We’re going to need more articles on the subject!

🙂

@100, yes, Tulsi, grab your scarf and let’s hear how erudite you are while you bask in the warm glow of fame as you trash the DNC and extol the virtues of that Vermont vermin.

@101, LOL — there’s a saying, “until the last dog dies” — we are going to be having these anthropological studies of why the hillbillies continue to exist as a lost aboriginal species “until the last hillbilly is interviewed.”

No worries, Bannon will still be able to control Dumpty’s mind after every NSC meeting.

WTF?!

——–
Ahhhh shucks, Perry needs to be part of the cabinet too…who’s next? Krispy Cream?

Hey folks. We are currently in a lull between weather things here. We had some really strong thunderboomers this a.m. (the kind that rattles the bldg.) My wx radio was going crazy with all of the watches and warnings.

I think I am going to catch a few zzz’s while it’s calm.

@103> Actually one of the funniest tweets I’ve seen recently (I wish I’d saved the exact wording) was something like: “I love how all these profiles of Trump voters all sound like anthropologists studying dying indigenous tribes.”

Fun crazy fact:

Lindsey Graham is tweeting repeatedly that he’s joining Bill O tonight to talk about Susan Rice. No mention of the serial rapist thing…

Okay, here’s a little quiz. What connects these dots?

Like a claustrophobic rat in a phone booth, in order to divert attention from Russia’s stealing the election, the Vermillion Vermin and his verminites have accused others of heinous acts, even crimes and treasonous activities. Here’s a list from the last couple of weeks, see if there is a common thread.

1. Donna Brazile

2. April Ryan

3. Maxine Waters

4. Susan Rice

Prol @89. “current occupant of the Oval is antithetical to the concept of exceptionalism”

In the inimitable words of Wodehouse, he makes you rethink the whole idea of Man as Nature’s last word.

DYB @94. I just read that article about the poor white people in Ohio and how the Dems just aren’t reaching them. Buried deep in there was the line,

‘“The workers we’re talking about don’t want to run computers, they want to run back hoes, dig ditches, sling concrete block,” he wrote. ‘

Reminds me of that North English politico sneering about all the new jobs Labour was proposing were “lasses’ jobs.”

Tough he-men also hate having to admit they’re not on top of everything and having to, you know, learn anything.

Not only was Hillary a “lass,” who couldn’t possibly know anything, but all her proposals were about retraining for new technology. No wonder they couldn’t hear a word she said.

So they got conned instead and now they’re pounding their Lite beer cans on the bar counter.

@107, I remember when that incident happened. I thought it was nearly beyond belief that this Trumpite didn’t want a woman to say “pussy,” but she’s just fine with a President who not only says “pussy,” but brags about assaulting women by grabbing there. Makes no sense that your kid shouldn’t hear what your candidate for POTUS is saying. But then, we always knew the Repugs were hypocrites.

@111, is that lemonade, or is it … something else? LOL.

@114, Why, they’re all pesky females who should go back to Africa, per Trump & Co.

And if I read another article on the poor benighted bigoted Trump voters it’ll be way too soon.

Debut @1 NYT Bestsellers List: Old School — a book about values, the old school values. Author, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, Bill O’Reilly.

Little wonder that the orange mange-head gave him a shout out today.

These people aren’t even good sitcom characters.

Speaking of Bill O’Reilly, I give you Maxine Waters…

I thought this was funny:

117 Quixote> Yes, I agree completely. They need to retrain, learn new skills. The world is changing and they refuse to move with it. And they’re blaming people for the changes, but changes are natural and have happened before. Once everybody farmed, worked the land. Then industrial revolution changed that, people left farms, moved into big cities, trained for new jobs. Now we are living in a post-industrial age, it’s a technological age. If these people proudly declare they don’t want to live in a technological age – well, there’s nothing anyone can do to help them. They are proud of the fact that they don’t read books and only watch Fox News. Anti-intellectualism is something they take pride in. And it’s why they are destitute and will always remain so. I’m sorry life changed, but they’ve had decades to adjust. I’ve adjusted too, after college I totally didn’t know what I would do. My film degree seemed useless, the real jobs in the industry were unreachable. I worked retail for a few years while I tried to figure out what to do. Then ended up as an editor in TV. Sort of related to my original interest, but not exactly. I adjusted, I learned new skills (using the editing software.) I had to. It really wasn’t that big a deal, I don’t think I deserve a medal for it. My parents do. Their English was always not fantastic since they came to the US older, but my mother learned enough to have a job at a medical office where she does billing. She can help patients with anything too. These are all things she had to learn to have this job. She adjusted to a new life and a new reality. Before this job for years she did manicures, also a skill she had to learn. It’s just how it is. The world isn’t leaving these people behind. They left the world a long time ago.

114 Prolix> Hmmmmmm, I can’t tell. There’s something, it’s on the tip of my tongue!

Also in the Times interview today Dump said Elijah Cummings said to Trump that he, Trump, would be one of the best Presidents our country has ever seen.” Nobody believes this. My theory is Dump was talking to Ben Carson, but mistook him for Elijah Cummings. There’s no way Cummings would have said that to Dump.

@109, very sad for the poor people of Russia.

@119, this video is for all “the poor benighted bigoted Trump voters,” and their biggest fan, DYB.

@129 Yeah, but Mike Rowe also had this to say…

He wrote, “For what it’s worth, Carol, I don’t think Donald Trump won by tapping into America’s ‘racist underbelly,’ and I don’t think Hillary lost because she’s a woman.” Mike Rowe acknowledged that there were many “misgivings” about each candidate’s character, but people voted for each of them anyway. He then points out that we shouldn’t make generalizations across a population that tells us that Trump supporters don’t like foreigners and women. Or that Clinton supporters are okay with obstructing justice and lying under oath. He points out that these two people – Clinton and Trump – were the “choices we gave ourselves, and each came with a heaping helping of vulgarity and impropriety. Yeah, it was a dirty job for sure, but the winner was NOT decided by a racist and craven nation – it was decided by millions of disgusted Americans desperate for real change.”

Nope. Wishy-washy bullshit just doesn’t work anymore.

@125, omg! That is probably what happened!
