Activist Monday: Dear Congresscritters…

Posted on: January 9, 2017

Good Monday, all. Apologies for the long absence. What with the holidays and long, long-overdue vacations, I haven’t been around for more than a minute to expostulate in my usual manner. I have really enjoyed the posts of my co-bloggers, and all of your comments, and I see us getting our fighting spirit back after the still-unbelievable events of November 8th.

I will say that I am gratified to finally, FINALLY see pushback amongst liberals against this ridiculous narrative that because white, male rural voters went for Drumpf, we should all run around pursuing their votes so we can get “back on track.” As you know, TW said “hell to the no” about this immediately. Guess what, those people never voted Democratic, and they never will.

Even more to the point: they are genuinely bad people, whose core values are directly contrary to ours, and who refuse to live in today’s world. The last thing we should do is reward them for this! They just got the biggest prize in the world handed to them – a President just as ignorant, misogynistic, racist, xenophobic and delusional as they are. What more do we think they deserve? Oh, I’ll answer that question for you. They deserve Der Trumperer, who will immediately proceed to f*ck them in their lazy, welfare-loving *sses from here to infinity. And you know what, my soft-hearted liberal side will hope they actually learn from this…but my snarky side will be laughing my head off.

Just read this article, if you dare, from the Washington Post. How many times have I said that Republicans live in the fake-fifties in their heads? Well, those enterprising reporters at WaPo proved it.

Seventy-four percent of white evangelicals believe American culture has mostly changed for the worse since the 1950s — more than any other group of Americans — compared with 56 percent of all whites, according to a 2016 survey by the Public Religion Research Institute. In sharp contrast, 62 percent of African Americans and 57 percent of Hispanic Americans think the culture has changed for the better, the survey said.

With his promise to “Make America Great Again,” Trump appealed directly to this sense of dispossession, and 81 percent of white evangelicals voted for him, according to exit polls.

The Post reporters went to Andy Griffith’s home town, Mount Airy, and talked to many of its residents. Here are some key quotes that show the deep, unshakable prejudices behind the Drumpf-lovin’ mentality.

Despite the steady stream of tourists, business owners are still struggling to create new jobs that will attract a younger generation, said Lizzie Morrison, 30, who runs an art studio and is the Main Street coordinator with Mount Airy Downtown.

Morrison said the city’s younger residents tend to be socially liberal, while most in the older generations look to the past. That tension makes it harder for someone like her to push for new ideas, she said.

“You deal with a lot of white, middle-aged men who might call you ‘Sweetie’ and belittle you a little bit,” she said. “It’s interesting to navigate that in a small community in trying to create jobs and be taken seriously.”

Misogyny: Check. And:

Many Mount Airy residents applauded the president-elect’s promise to revoke the Johnson Amendment, which effectively bars pastors from endorsing a candidate from the pulpit, Rowe said. They were heartened by his suggestion that Christians will be able to once again see “Merry Christmas” signs in department stores.

Religious bigotry: Check.

But the mayor acknowledges that the 1950s and ’60s were not idyllic for all Americans. He wouldn’t, for example, want to go back to the days when there were separate water fountains at the local Sears for whites and blacks. At the same time, he said, African Americans often bring hardship on themselves. Asked to explain what he meant, he amended the statement to mean young blacks.

Oh, I see. Young blacks! Racism: Check.

Here’s what I find utterly ludicrous about their attitude. They want Drumpf to “bring their jobs back.” Instead of, oh, I don’t know, going online to learn a more marketable skill, go to community college, etc., they sit on their shiftless bums and wait for the government to save them – EXACTLY the behavior they regularly excoriate “liberals” for exhibiting. Some of those ever-so-righteous white Christian folk are collecting welfare and selling possessions to pay for gas and food, just to avoid the effort of getting another job! I may have sold a few things as a starving artist in Manhattan, but I have taken on many, many different jobs to make my own rent/expenses. I didn’t go on welfare. I didn’t even ask my parents for help after I graduated from music school, and believe me, I had jack sh*t to my name. I got a cheap apartment, a roommate, managed my budget and paid my taxes, which mostly went to subsidizing their useless lives. And when it became clear that the music industry no longer afforded enough opportunities for me to make a living because of a President I didn’t vote for (thank you, Ronnie Raygun, as always, for defunding the NEA and the arts), I didn’t sit around pissing and moaning that I couldn’t find a highly-paying singing job any more, and blaming Raygun for my lack of spine and character. I found something else to do, and have made a success of it. What a concept!

So hear me now: You don’t vote Republican because of economic issues. You vote Republican because you are self-righteous, entitled, expect Uncle Sam to solve all your problems, and have a deep-rooted desire to screw over everyone who doesn’t look like, or believe like, you. If that’s not deplorable, then I don’t know what is.

Your activism this week, Widdershins, along with the other feet-on-the-street actions I see you doing (I’m SO proud of you all and can’t wait till 1/21!) is to write and call Democratic Congresscritters and tell them this. You can do this here:

Senators: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Representatives: http://www.house.gov/representatives/

Here is a sample letter and/or phone script for you. (hee hee hee)

Dear [insert name of Congresscritter here]: Do NOT listen to old white men like Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders, or any of their idiotic enablers. They didn’t support Hillary or her campaign (“Uncle Joe” almost ran against her, remember?), and they have done nothing for the Democratic Party their whole lives. The best thing we can do for those backwards rural schmucks is to ignore them and let the feces-throwing baboon they elected make them look even stupider than they are, by showing them exactly what happens when they get what they ask for. And for those few white people who voted for Drumpf and live in cities, well, maybe they’ll end up joining the rest of us who understand that we are #strongertogether, and that, thank heavens, the fifties and sixties will never come again. There are more of us than there are of them. And we have work to do.

Hugs, MB.

This is an open thread.

I called my Senators today to politely tell them to fully vet the cabinet appointees. Lankford’s office says he is only sitting on the committee to review the confirmation of Homeland Security, so apparently he won’t vote on the others? I told her I was tracking responses in social media groups and want to know if he will ask for delay of hearings until all vetting is complete. With Inhofe (a big climate denier) I was polite & told her I am concerned that the nominees get all their vetting finished before their hearings. She said she wasn’t sure, but there was no indication thy were dragging their feet on providing it. I quickly told her I was not suggesting that they were, but emphasized the vetting was essential, Then she said there was precedence for incomplete vetting, that some of Obamas’ were voted in w/o out it (well, holy crap Batman – Hillary didn’t need any extra vetting, now did she?). I reminded her there were several nominees with no gov track record, including the PEOTUS and I was concerned and expected them to adhere to the same requirements McConnell asked of Obama’s. I also made sure she knew I have a graduate degree & worked in education and that I had voted Rep my entire life UNTIL this election. I told her I had big problems with Tillerson, Devos – citing her position of school choice (when they and you, Oklahoma can’t fund public schools), Sessions & (out own climate denier) Pruitt. Now I feel like I should call Sen Warren and have her beat up on Inhofe & Lankford.

LOVE this post! I will write and call my congress critters tonite!, In fact, I’ve been working on an outline.

Contrask, you poor thing, that sounds like an exhausting conversation. You’re in OK aren’t you?

MB, agree with every jot and tittle. Excellent. You said:

You don’t vote Republican because of economic issues. If that’s not deplorable, then I don’t know what is.

The Tea Party Rethugs voted for someone who has filed four bankruptcies since 2000 to run the economy. Voted for Wall Street bankers who tanked the economy to call the shots. Voted for lower minimum wage lovers. Voted for greater environmental hazards. They voted in keeping with their mantra, “I got mine (even though it is Social Security Disability, Medicare or Medicaid) and sorry about your luck.”

I feel confident there will be an atmospheric explosion of a nuclear weapon in the next four years. It might not be on purpose.

Trump Just Dismissed the People in Charge of Maintaining Our Nuclear Arsenal

Oh my. That article about Mayberry is something else. The preacher’s wife deciding whose “worthy” to help. And she said it out loud to a reporter. Ugh.

@5, holy shit, is this for real?

WTH makes Trump, the Repubs and media think Trump is so special. He may be different or “unprecedented” (Gawd if I hear that word again) but he ain’t special. But that’s how he’s treated. Special. Is the only reason he’s getting away with all this – no time to vet appointees, son-in-law nepotism, firing the nuclear head before replacement – is because it’s not actually against the law? And if it were, would anybody have the balls to say so? Doesn’t seem like it to me. I guess we’re going to have to pass a bunch of new laws to keep this from happening again, unless we’re already too screwed to stop it.

Just for a moment, the briefest moment, tell me what the Rethugs would have done if Obama had been elected by the narrowest of electoral margins, lost the popular vote, and it became known that Russia had been supporting him? It would have been a showdown of apocalyptic proportions.

What if Obama had hired Michelle’s brother as a Special Counsel? What if Obama’s Attorney General had a long history of being supportive of minority religions? What if Obama’s Senior Counsel had been an ACLU executive as opposed to a Breitbart bigot?

The bounds of hypocrisy is intergalactic in its reach.

@7, yep, sorry to say it is. If anyone has the Obama stink on them, they are fired on January 20th.

@9 but..but…but Trump’s special.

One thing that seems to missed with all this “fake news” being misconstrued with views someone disagrees with – originally the term was being used about articles like pizza gate before the election. Those were not fake news. That was flat out propaganda to sway or bias the election, but nobody was bold enough to call it that. I agree the term is being misused now, but it was not accurate before the election. Not mentioned in this either.

@3 Yes and I want to get sharper on the topics before I call again. Wish I had mentioned to Inhofe’s aide that Yes, you may have moved quick on BHO, but 3 picks were Republicans in ’09 and all were qualified & probably already vetted. https://i2.wp.com/books2luv.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/15727339_10211626809212408_3746024599403867670_n1.jpg?ssl=1&w=450

@5: Well there is this:

According to Bob Rosner, the Co-Chair of the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and the former director of Argonne National Laboratory, the leadership vacuum won’t prevent the agency from fulfilling its essential duties. But it will leave it without an advocate as it tries to secure a budget from Congress, and unable to tackle any new initiatives whatsoever.

Hey all! Contrask, really well-done on those calls to your horrible Congresscritters. I am sure that their staffers were both shocked and impressed by your highly informed comments. 😉

As for the hypocrisy level, Prolix, “intergalactic” is the perfect way of describing it!

@5, you’d think that would finally convince everyone he’s an unqualified lunatic.

That pic looks like MK Bill (moderator kitteh bill from Uppity’s place) She had a pic like that at one time.

It does, SoCal! I just loved the cat’s slightly manic intensity. Captured my state of mind perfectly!

Jason Chaffetz says he’s still investigating Hillary’s emails and, oh yeah,,,about that Trump thing? Exempt.

Chaffetz said his committee would also work to hold the Trump administration accountable for potential conflicts of interest.

“My job in this role is not to protect or be a cheerleader for the president. It’s just not. I’m not here to defend him at every turn,” Chaffetz said.

But, he cautioned, his committee would have limited ability to deal with the president-elect’s conflicts of interest when he took office. “My concern is to make sure there’s compliance with the law. I will tell you that the president is exempt from a lot of them,” Chaffetz said.

@21, sounds like it’s one of those practice scenario operations but on a larger scale than usual.

Wonder if Trump will change them to bi-country ops, with both US & Russian troops. (Why did I have to think of this?)

Also, anyone following Adam Kahn’s posts? Yet more evidence that Trump’s numerous bankruptcies, casino and hotel deals have been a front for Russian mob money-laundering all along.

@20 Luna thanks for that Tweet. I have my doubts about Schumer but it looks like he really is going to fight back! About Adam Khan – I started reading his feed the other night and the next thing I knew the sun was coming up. I’d rank him up there with Kurt Eichenwald and the few others who are really digging. Now… how to get MSM to pick it up.

I can say I’m relieved. I’m glad it takes tens of millions of dollars to get to ruin America’s public education. Like, I wouldn’t want just anyone to do it. I want someone who is really dedicated to the idea that public education is too costly and we should be spending that money on good religious training. Looks like we got our gal in Betsy.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

OH YES!!!! The Gumps lost the Nat’l Championship game!

There will be gnashing of teeth and rending of garments in Gumpville!!!!! null

I wonder if dump will call those troops back after he’s sworn in. Agree with you guys that Adam Khan is putting out great info–it makes my head spin. With the new horror stories coming out day by day, it just makes me wonder again why the Clintons and Carters (and Bushes) think they need to add their gravitas to the inauguration of this horrible, horrible man.

Fredster, can you believe that game!?!

Laker just ‘splained to me what Gumpville means! LOL!

@24, agree with you, love to see these evil people throwing their money away.

@28: And it especially means Tuscaloosa, the Gumps’ home town. That’s the town that Kiff-Kiff said three years living there was like dog years so 21 years. LOL!!

@27: I loved that game annie. I was just hoping that Clemson would be able to get the win. I held my breath several times and at the end was sitting here with fingers crossed.

Troops to Germany… Remember Jade Helm? Hell, at this point we should probably send our troops to Germany to train to prevent the Gov of Texas from sending out the Texas Guard to “keep an eye on things”. Meaning regular training exercises that the yokels thought was martial law. That is exactly the paranoia that brought us Trump.

@32: GAgal from the UPI link:

The deployment is the culmination of a promised heavier armed troop presence in eastern Europe since the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014.

The move was meant to reassure nervous NATO allies the United States was prepared to respond in the event of further Russian aggression in the region.

The arrival of the 3,500-troop heavy brigade is part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The Army has maintained troop deployments in the region for decades, but had allowed their numbers to lapse for months at a time as troops were rotated out of Europe without being replaced. Stars and Stripes reported the Pentagon plans to maintain the full deployment and immediately replace returning soldiers after their 9-month deployments are completed.

@33 Yes, I know. I read the link. I was just joking. Several members of my family have been stationed in Germany over the years. My nephew was born there when his dad was enlisted.

@31, I’m glad you were able to enjoy it! We had it on both upstairs and down and the dudes watched it, and I caught parts of it when I could. Am amazed and happy that Clemson won! Do you suppose their fans are screeching about “the pick” that wasn’t called or other nonsense?

Oh, there a tweet from an idiot dump fan that’s making the rounds. He thinks the ACA is good but Obamacare is bad:

Aaand:

@36 & 37 Hilarious! Trump supporter writ large. Now I have to read more of that…

It’s old picture (notice BCS behind him)

@36 & 37: Oh that’s just so sad.

@35: I kind of thought you had read the link but wasn’t sure if you were just teasing or what.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

In response to this tweet from John Cornyn:

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Randy Rainbow has an exit interview with President Obama.

@43 Randy always gets some good digs in. @36 love this! That’s the political savvy of the average trump supporter! My humor for the morning.

@32 the Trumper paranoia is going to explode one of theses days. I just hope they shoot themselves – and hit something besides their feet.

The “let’s repeal Obamacare, not ACA” reminds me of those deplorables who hold signs at rallies that say: “Keep the government out of my Medicare!” This is why we have Drumpf. People are stupid.

There is a lot of drama going on now with Jayuff Sayshuns and his confirmation hearing. Several AA Congresscritters are testifying that he has a history of racism and lack of support for the Voting Rights Act. Check out any news site. I’m glad the Democrats are standing up.

Looks like California is gearing up to taking on Trump, big time, not only is Jerry Brown taking him on over environmental issues…

California Hires Eric Holder as Legal Bulwark Against Donald Trump

Girding for four years of potential battles with President-elect Donald J. Trump, Democratic leaders of the California Legislature announced Wednesday that they had hired Eric H. Holder Jr., who was attorney general under President Obama, to represent them in any legal fights against the new Republican White House.

The decision by the Legislature to retain Mr. Holder, who is now a prominent Washington lawyer, is the latest sign of the ideological battle that may play out over the next four years between this predominantly Democratic state and Washington. Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for president, defeated Mr. Trump by more than four million votes here.

“Having the former attorney general of the United States brings us a lot of firepower in order to prepare to safeguard the values of the people of California,” Kevin de León, the Democratic leader of the Senate, said in an interview. “This means we are very, very serious.”

Mr. de León said he expected California to challenge Washington — and defend itself from policies instituted in Washington — on issues including the environment, immigration and criminal justice. He said California Democrats decided to turn to Mr. Holder as they watched Mr. Trump assemble his cabinet and begin to set the tone for his presidency.

“It was very clear that it wasn’t just campaign rhetoric,” Mr. de León said of Mr. Trump’s proposals over the past year. “He was surrounding himself with people who are a very clear and present danger to the economic prosperity of California.”

Mr. Trump did not immediately return requests for comment.

The move by Mr. de León and his Democratic counterpart in the Assembly, Anthony Rendon, follows Gov. Jerry Brown’s appointment of Representative Xavier Becerra as attorney general last month, to succeed Kamala D. Harris, who was elected to the United States Senate.

@19 Jason Chaffetz

Chaffetz is the obsessed Hillary hating crackpot of the season. He has no other purpose in life, Karma needs to give him something bigger to worry about.

@47 – Thank you Shadowfax! Good to see you.

@47> Good for California! Maybe CA and NY can secede from the union???

@ 49 Thanks madamab, glad to find Hillary supporters that are not ready to roll over for the next loser in the Oval.

Yes, DYB, looks like CA and NY have to take on the fight for all of Hillary’s majority of voters that had discounted votes against the rigged election. We have the people and the $$.

@51> Yes… I will have a post up tomorrow that will discuss that a little bit, at least the NY part. I attended an anti-Trump meeting on Sunday that NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman was a speaker at and it was interesting and depressing because I think we might be more screwed than I had feared…

Oh this is funny, someone dug up Tomi Lahren’s old tweets and she must regret some of them.

http://www.someecards.com/news/politics/tomi-lahren-old-tweets/

@53 – Galactic hypocrisy indeed!

OMG this is huge.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/10/politics/donald-trump-intelligence-report-russia/index.html

“Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.”

Further form this article:

“The two-page synopsis also included allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government, according to two national security officials.”

@55, I was just ready to post the same thing. They are also investigating the contacts between the Trump campaign and Kremlin “go betweens”. It also appears that CNN does have what the compromising information is, but since they have not corroborated it, they are not yet reporting it.

This is HUGE!

@55
DYB, maybe Putin’s little ‘400 lb.’ hackers got into the tapes from past Apprentice shows. There’s a mountain of Der Douche’s XX rated railings and it seems only the Democrats have trouble releasing them to through the MSM, while Rump has Banon and all the UFO tabloids to do his bidding.

No press conferences, media is fine with mindless tweets.

Sometimes my name slips into multiple ‘x’s when I blog from home or work.

Can’t wait to see if that is all picked up about Trump being compromised! I will LMAO. Meanwhile, here’s Robby Mook on the hacking.

Buzzfeed has published the unverified memorandums.

If a tenth of this is true, Trump and his entire band of confederates are traitors. Traitors who would make Benedict Arnold blush. And it is all about oil, lifting sanctions, and Putin fearing Hillary.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/kenbensinger/these-reports-allege-trump-has-deep-ties-to-russia?utm_term=.sxkVnkqzMw#.ygLp5mPE10

@55

It is huge, and this is the stuff that Reid was hinting at and that others in Congress already knew, and Obama also knew…before the election! They might even have his taxes, and at least know of his debt to Russia.

I will never understand how Obama and the government can go ahead with the “peaceful transition of power” under these circumstances. if dump and his creepy cohorts don’t qualify as “a clear and present danger,” then what does?

@ 61

You can’t make this stuff up. Even involved Bernie and Stein and turning Burnout’s fans against Hillary and for El Douche.

I’m sure they have more than Trump hiring Russian prostitutes to pee on the bed that the Obama’s slept in during a Russian visit.

Maybe we should dump the corrupt people like Comey at FBI the and hire some folks from MI6.

@62 WTF is going on? this sounds huge! I just got in from work & riding horses – had no idea. Is it for real?

Absolutely, socalannie.

So the FBI knew in August but kept silent. Reid comes out in October raising hell. Comey sabotages Hillary at the end of October. My prediction that Comey would be gone by the end of the year was wrong, but this is IT! I was wondering why Obama looks like hell these days. It’s because he knew this and let it slide and now he is as responsible as anyone for Trumps bogus win. Some legacy…

@67, and don’t forget McTurtle threatening Obama to make it a partisan issue if he publicized it. They are all, to a one, complicit in this.

Who wants to take odds on Trump canceling his press conference in the morning?

@58> I don’t think it’s The Apprentice tapes. I know an editor who worked on that show for years and he said those tapes were all analog. They are in storage, not online. The only way to get to them would be to physically gain entrance to the storage facility and view/copy them one machine to another machine. There’s just no way anybody could do that without full cooperation of Mark Burnett’s production company.

When I say “analog” I mean the are physical tapes (probably DigiBetas.) All that footage is not on a computer, it’s all on individual master tapes from the camera. Hundreds of them.

The Guardian has learned that the FBI applied for a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance (Fisa) court over the summer in order to monitor four members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials. The Fisa court turned down the application asking FBI counter-intelligence investigators to narrow its focus. According to one report, the FBI was finally granted a warrant in October, but that has not been confirmed, and it is not clear whether any warrant led to a full investigation.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/10/fbi-chief-given-dossier-by-john-mccain-alleging-secret-trump-russia-contacts

This is everywhere. I just can’t. I have a post prepared for tomorrow, but I wrote it before all this…so it will be anti-climactic.

Sorry DYB, I was somewhat mocking El Douche with the Apprentice tapes, but Rosanne’s ex-husband, Tom said there was a ‘holiday’ tape going around that had splices of ‘gems’ from Trump’s tapes from the Apprentice…that would shock people.

This spook stuff all fits what we have been hearing but the MSM has made sure no one took it seriously before the election.

Hillary must be heart-sick over all this…

But people are finding some clever ways to talk about it.

“PEEOTUS”

“Urine for a surprise folks!”

And more:

http://www.someecards.com/news/politics/golden-showers-tweets-donald-trump-peeing/

We also know now why Obama said he could have won this election…because HE WAS THE ONE PERSON THAT KNEW ABOUT THIS STUFF AND COULD HAVE USED IT TO STOP TRUMP! He deserves to be disgraced for this.

And to think of how Hillary defending him…

I’m not so sure the ‘golden showers’ is made up. Remember the woman that was raped by Trump when she was 13? She mentioned that often he would enjoy watching others have sex, orgies with preteen girls…like her. He would participate and leave. This guy is a perv.

@78> Yes, Obama’s behavior in this – his desire to not politicize something so inherently political to soothe his view of himself as above politics – brought us to this. It’s really….I don’t even have words anymore.

Someone posted a comment that today’s news is brought to you by a pissed off CIA.

Also when the intelligence heads testified, one Democrat asked Comey if they were investigating Trump and Comey said he doesn’t comment on investigations. I don’t know how a bolt of lighting didn’t strike him dead right then and there and how everyone in the room didn’t laugh in his face.

@79> No, nothing would surprise me.

One thing to note is that this is unconfirmed and the original source for the info was one British retired spy. Let’s not forget that Bush used one person’s “intelligence” to justify invading Iraq. But – since according to Trump and his cronies we live in a post-factual world – why not embrace it.

I got a couple of funny tweets:

“Trump has always wanted to be number 1.”

“It’s watergate all over again.”

#GoldenShowers is popular tonight. Why now? It’s so wrong – I’m pissed all over again for the rape of Hillary

But…but…but…HILLARY’S EMAILS!!!!!!!

Can you f*cking believe this? Can you f*cking believe that our government is so deeply compromised by the Republican Party that the intelligence services spent their time on smearing Hillary rather than giving a f*ck about Putin OWNING the President of the United States? What the hell is wrong with our country?

I agree this is unverified, and I do care about facts. But this is the ONLY thing that makes sense about all the GOP luv for Putin. They are not so stupid they don’t know he’s a bad actor and a threat to our nation. They are corrupt, and Putin has them by the b*lls.

As for Obama, we told you so, America. We. Told. You. So. He just HAD to be President, didn’t he? He couldn’t have just let Hillary be the nominee and beat McCain and the GOP into the ground, and make the partisan (not post-partisan) case for Democratic policies. What a selfish, disgusting human being with no care for his country whatsoever. Now that we know what he knew and when he knew it, he is worse than Bush. Yup, I said it.

Madamab: I remember a video clip of Obama in 2006 (IIRC) when he was pointedly asked if he would run for prez in 2008. It was after the speech he gave that made everyone swoon. His answer? In effect, ” I don’t believe in applying for a job that I am not qualified to do and if I were to run I would have to start campaigning now when I am just starting my first term as a US senator. ” I blame him for running in 2008, and for how both Obamas and their smart ass campaign demeaned Hillary, but he was anointed by the DNC to do it. Any ideas on why? Was their fear of the clintons that great? Somebody has been pulling his strings for a long, long time.

@85 – I totally remember that too. It was very odd the way his answer changed suddenly. Of course every Senator sees a President when s/he looks in the mirror, so they say…

@85, In 2006 or early 2007, before Obama announced his run for POTUS, I remember getting, out of the blue, a letter from him. Must have been on some Dem list, as this was before 5/31/08. It was all blah-blah-woof-woof about what he as a Dem would do for our country, just like to usual political letter. But what I thought was weird is that Obama’s mailing also included a 5 x 7 photo of him on glossy paper. Huh? I thought, is he so egotistical that he thinks voters on his mailing list want a photo of him? I sure didn’t, and into the recycling it went. Later on, in 2008, I thought back on that mailing and said “Aha! Typical Obama. All appearance and not much else.”

Just got back from work and saw the kompromat on Trump info. WTdoubleF? Obama sat on this info? His legacy is now cowardice!

Andy Borowitz:

Dear Jim Comey,
Thanks for keeping the dossiers about the Russians blackmailing Trump a secret before the election. You’re an amazing public servant and It’s so unfair that you will burn in Hell for eternity.
Fuck you,
Millions of Americans

@ 84, I couldn’t possibly agree more…unless I added more freakin’ cuss words. We all knew it, and we all screamed at Obama, the R’s that knew it in Congress, the media that refused to tell the truth about a pedophile, a liar, a cheat that wrote off his taxes for 20 years, a woman hater, a Hillary hater, a racist, an any American that isn’t a white man, hater.

Now don’t tell me America doesn’t have a Constitution that doesn’t have a way to protect it’s citizens from a commie puppet like this…or we live on the edge of having someone like Hitler rule our country.

Step up all you Evangelicals, all you religious right weirdos, and decide if you are going to stand up for this kind of a man that does everything you say you hate.

Let’s pin this pervert on each and everyone that voted for him.

Where are the ‘Trump is a pervert and puppet of Putin!’ bumper stickers?

I am so angry, I don’t wish anyone a Happy New Year without adding stipulations.

I am seriously considering changing my plane ticket to arrive on 1/20 to protest the inauguration. WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN FOLKS. We would be handing our government to Vladimir Putin!

@88

Perfect letter!

@90

I never understood the march being after the horse was out of the darn barn.

Typical organization.

They need to grow some and start marching now!!

Why do we have to rely on MI6 retiree when we have the NSA?? They have everything…

I was at a political meeting on Sunday and a representative for the Women’s March to DC made it very clear that their march is not anti-Trump, it’s pro-Women. Take that as you will.

@94 – Yes that’s right. I didn’t hear of any I-Day protests, but I’ll bet there will be now.

Of course, Drumpf will erect (neener!) significant barriers to make sure protesters never get near him. But that won’t matter at all.

ABSOLUTELY CALLING CHUCK TOMORROW. Sorry for all-caps but WHAT THE F*CKING F*CK.

@64, yes! Don’t you love that it mentions Jill and Bernie Nader! And Bernie’s trying to be a spokesman for the Democratic Party?!? Screw that! I pray someone primaries that fraud.

A woman’s march that isn’t against Trump…what’s the point.

I hope to go to the march in San Francisco, it will damn well be against Trump…big time.

@95, two things. The first is this: We need to all call our Senators. We need to demand a bipartisan committee to investigate this. The only thing McConnell understands is power and pressure. He needs to feel the effing heat. McCain, Lady Lindsey, and Rubio have called for a committee — more Senators from the Rethug side need to do the same.

Second thing: What is Trump’s favorite vegetable?

Chickpea.

Forgive me.

@98> LOL

@88, that’s my letter too!

#84, Brava MB!

@92, 94, I saw that info that the Women’s March is not specifically anti-Trump but is pro-woman. Coward. I think the overwhelming majority of participants are anti-Trump.

Stop the presses…feature story………….

The media takes a tweet as a top news headline on Politico…

(Are we in high school here????)

“Trump blasts reports of Russian efforts to compromise him”

Tweet: “FAKE NEWS – A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!” Trump tweeted on Tuesday evening,

on the eve of his first news conference in more than 160 days, scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Excellent video. Hillary knew some of it, and I don’t doubt for a minute that her hour long meal with Diane Feinstein that day after Hillary met with the Congressional Dems…was to fill Hillary in on more of the details.

MB, I hope the Women’s protest in DC goes well. I’ll be cheering for you all.
