Activist Monday: Whether ’tis nobler in the mind…

To be, or not to be : that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?….
Good Monday, all! I figured out that I have been on a plane eight times in the past four weeks, and six of those flights were five hours long or more. Whew! I hope you have had a great month. I came back to deja vu in Iraq and more right-wing insanity than you can wave an American flag at.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Saturday night accused President Barack Obama and other Democrats of waging wars against religious liberty and education and said that a rebellion is brewing in the U.S. with people ready for “a hostile takeover” of the nation’s capital.
spoke at the annual conference hosted by the Faith and Freedom Coalition, a group led by longtime Christian activist . Organizers said more than 1,000 evangelical leaders attended the three-day gathering. Republican officials across the political spectrum concede that evangelical voters continue to play a critical role in GOP politics.
“I can sense right now a rebellion brewing amongst these United States,” Jindal said, “where people are ready for a hostile takeover of Washington, D.C., to preservefor our children and grandchildren.”
The governor said there was a “silent war” on religious liberty being fought in the U.S. — a country that he said was built on that liberty.
“I am tired of the left. They say they’re for tolerance, they say they respect diversity. The reality is this: They respect everybody unless you happen to disagree with them,” he said. “The left is trying to silence us and I’m tired of it, I won’t take it anymore.”
What are they so fired up about? As “Christians,” are they worried about ending poverty and studying war no more? Heavens, no. You know what’s got Bobby and Ralphie in a tizzy today? Educational standards! That’s right, it’s all a commie pinko lesbian Jewish Muslim plot to oppress white Christian males and their subservient, non-rapeable female companions!
“The federal government has no role, no right and no place dictating standards in our local schools across these 50 states of the United States of America,” Jindal said.
That’s right. A Governor in our country, considering running for President, does nor recognize the right of the Federal government to set core curriculum for the schools in America.
I’ll just let you chew on that statement before I go on.
This is a terrifying time in America. This group of blazing ignoramuses, certain in their ever-changing convictions, burning to fight their imaginary oppressors for their return of their imaginary rights, are well-funded. well-organized, and may soon own all the local and state governments in most of the states in America. The Democrats, by contrast, are well-funded, disorganized, have few convictions, and don’t seem to take the threat seriously. After all, they are rational and right about most things. But strong and wrong beats weak and right every single time. We see it over and over again.
Democrats must decide whether to keep ignoring the slings and arrows of these outrageous fortunates, or whether to take up arms against them, and in so doing, end them (politically speaking of course). We know Hillary has been aware of the danger of the VRWC for decades. If she becomes the front-runner in 2016, the Democrats will have a fighter at the helm for the first time since 2000.
I sincerely hope it won’t be too late.
This is an open thread.
