Remain Calm, Etc: Of Ghosties and Ghoulies
Posted October 31, 2013on:
Happy Hollday, Widdershins!
If you are of the Wiccan persuasion, Good Samhein. For our Catholic Widdershins, a solemn All Hallows Eve. To our Rainbow Widdershins, let the festivities begin. And to any trolling Fundies, grab your Bibles and prepare to explain how the heck y’all turned the Catholic feast of All Saints into the devil’s holiday – just curious.
My pumpkin is out on the porch, I’ve stocked up on candy for the neighborhood young ‘uns, my holiday tee shirt is clean, and I am ready to go. Come sundown, I’ll light the candle in the pumpkin and the evening fun and games shall begin. Every child within miles knows that I dispense candy with a generous hand, so legions of little devils, angels, Spidermen, Barbies, pirates, etc. should soon be bumping their way through the night and landing on my porch.
As with all good holidays, Hallowe’en deserves a playlist. Post your selections, or anything else that stirs your soul, below.
(1) Monster Mash – Bobby “Boris” Pickett
(2) I Put a Spell on You – Screamin’ Jay Hawkins
(3) Season of the Witch – Donovan
(4) Werewolves of London – Warren Zevon
(5) Time Warp – Rocky Horror Picture Show
