Good Sunday, Widdershins!
A few weeks ago. we held a musical tribute to the word “stop”. After a brief interruption for the Oscars, we will now give homage to the word “go” in the interest of symmetry.
There are veritable legions of tunes with some form of the “Go” word in the title, and at least one girl group boasts a derivation in their name. Feel free to post songs of all genre with this most active verb used prominently in some form or fashion. Here are my selections, and to paraphrase Prolix, this is an all sing open thread.
(1) Where Did Our Love Go? – The Supremes, 1964
(2) Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes - Edison Lighthouse, 1970
(3) Going Up the Country - Canned Heat. 1968
(4) Long Time Gone - Crosby, Stills, and Nash, 1969
(5) We Got the Beat - The Go-Gos, 1982

Sweet Baby James
One of my favorite Elton John songs. I always wanted to go west on that bus.
I’m having a party in my head.
@8 Nice choice Beata. You’re on a roll!
Wow!! Some really good oldies here. Particularly Love Grows where my Rosemarie Goes–I loved that song way back when. Thanks Chat! And Blues for Baby & Me–LOVE Elton. Way to go, Beata!
I wonder if this song could even be released today..
I guess he could change the lyrics to be more PC:…and the young wimmin of color GO….
Chuck can’t help himself.
Nice to see you, DYB!
“Show Me the Way to Go Home”
@60: Just barely!
Dear Fredster, cleaning up the massive Chivas leak from the pavement in uK was a public service! Somebody had to do it!
God knows it’s a thankless job.
